SOLD 1969 Ted Jenks/Andy Porterfield Corvette
Up for sale is this recently restored piece of history that genuinely captures the essence of the SCCA BP/GT-1/TransAm racing history involving the Corvette. This car was originally built by Ted Jenks, an aerospace engineer from Southern California, and co-drioven in endurance events with well known Corvette racer Andy Porterfield (founder of Perterfield Brakes) who was a business partner with Ted in the 1970's. This car was retied in the late 1970's and discovered behind a house near Willow Springs raceway. It was restored in 2010 by Vintage Exotics and has been actively campaigned since including the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, SVRA, SCCA and ASA events. It also ran in the 2015 HSR 24 Hours of Daytona Classic finishing in first place in class ahead of Brian Redmond, Joe Foster and other well known drivers. The car is very reliable, built for both sprint and endurance races and is extremely well finished. This is a time warp and is correctly completed to be eligible in all Group 6 historic classes. Its a ton of fun to drive as its very nimble and lively and its a crowd pleaser everywhere it goes. Full historic history including period images and historic race results available
